The baby was born on 29 March 1985 at Roswell in New Mexico. Gerina Michelle Mendoza is her name. Gerina Stevenson was born to Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). Stevenson is American and has Mexican-American heritage. Since her early years the desire for her to be engaged in sport was strong. Gerina took up golf in her first game at age 15. Gerina went to Goddard High School. While in highschool, Gerina was the winner of the New Mexico golf state tournament. Along with volleyball, she competed on a state-level. In the year 2003 she was enrolled in the University of Texas. Her senior year was a success. she took home the top prize in every single tournament that she took part in. In her undergraduate time, she was awarded the Conference USA Individual Champion Player of the Year and Female UTEP athlete of the year.
